Description

Theoretical activities focus on developing and advancing exact analytical and other computational methods focused on macromolecules and soft materials at interfaces. Current interests include (1) the nature of the crystal-amorphous interfacial region in traditional and semiconducting polymers, (2) directed self-assembly of block copolymers, (3) polymer crystallization, (4) confinement induced collapse transitions, (5) chromatographic response of complex copolymers, (6) transport behavior of complex nanoparticles, and (7) macromolecule-related problems in biological systems. Where appropriate, we will validate the theoretical results through experimental methods (particularly neutron based) concurrently being developed at NIST.
