Description
This project focuses on the solution synthesis of colloidal nanostructures for optoelectronic and quantum applications. Nanostructures, such as colloidal nanoparticles, are promising for several applications such as photovoltaics, light emitting diodes, biological imaging, photodetectors, and single-photon emitters. We are interested in understanding the synthesis of these materials, so that we can control nanostructure shape, size distribution, as well as composition. By controlling these properties we are able to tailor the optical properties of these materials, thus making them suitable for particular applications. Additionally, we use several techniques such as electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, transmission, as well as photoluminescence to thoroughly characterize the physical and optical properties of these nanostructures.
