Machine Learning/Bioinformatics

The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment in the Center for Bio/Molecular Science and Engineering (Code 6910) and the Navy Center for Applied Research in AI (Code 5510), and will join a multidisciplinary team interested in bacterial systems and synthetic biology. The candidate will be responsible for developing and applying machine learning algorithms to complement these efforts and must have acquired a PhD in machine learning, statistics, bioinformatics, biological engineering, or related discipline within the past five years and have demonstrated experience in large-scale data processing. Previous computational biology or systems biology experience is highly desirable but not required. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and the DOD Supercomputing Resource Center and must be self-motivated, well-organized, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
