Description

This research primarily focuses on manipulating light within laser cavities in order to generate diverse waveforms outside of the laser. We are also interested in using nonlinear wave mixing to synthesize diverse waveforms. Work is currently being conducted experimentally using multi-section quantum-dot lasers, computationally by solving systems of partial differential equations based on traveling-wave models, and analytically through the use of delay differential equations. Opportunities exist to contribute to one or more of the different areas (theory, experiment, simulations), depending on background and interest level.
