Description

This research opportunity focuses on the numerical modeling and simulation of nonlinear partial differential equations with wave-like solutions. These equations arise in a number of scenarios, including electromagnetic wave propagation and interfacial fluid dynamics. New numerical methods and mathematical models will be developed, with particular focus on coherent structures. Featured application areas include laser propagation in the atmosphere and oceanographic wave motions.
