Description

Selected candidate will work as an archivist for the Phillips Research Site of the Air Force Research Laboratory on Kirtland Air Force Base. AFRL PRS consists of the Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates, organizations with history dating to 1945 and the Cambridge Field Station in Massachusetts. Candidate will:

  • perform professional archival work in virtually all archival mediums in the Site's extensive assortment of materials.
  • Utilize specialized equipment to digitize, review, edit, reformat, and reproduce materials.
  • Plan and direct the arrangement of archival records.
  • Independently provides reference service in response to regular and complex e-mail, phone, and written requests for information primarily regarding the Site's archival records.
  • Provide information and assistance to other archival institutions and professionals on the preservation and handling of Site historical materials.
  • Review records and apply appropriate restrictions in compliance with DoD policy. Recognize the complexity associated with applicability of multiple restrictions and recommend appropriate steps to address such complexity.

Selected individual will develop a centralized finding aid for the multitude of site archival databses. Fellow will also produce a capstone summary study publication of noteworthy and remarkable site artifacts, photographs, and documents for office and Phillips Research Site use.

Stipend

Base Stipend Travel Allotment Supplementation
$95,000.00 $5,000.00

Experience Supplement:
Postdoctoral and Senior Associates will receive an appropriately higher stipend based on the number of years of experience past their PhD.
