Description

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Associate position focused on utilizing machine learning and deep learning to improve space weather forecasting and modeling. Potential research areas include but not limited: prediction of the Dst index, magnetic field perturbation prediction, solar flare and CME prediction, radiation belt modeling, thermosphere modeling, satellite drag, ionosphere modeling, physics informed modeling, data assimilation for space weather.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of space-based and ground-based datasets and will be expected to contribute to the development of novel machine learning approaches for space weather research.

Stipend

Base Stipend Travel Allotment Supplementation
$95,000.00 $5,000.00

Experience Supplement

Postdoctoral and Senior awardees will receive an appropriately higher stipend based on the number of years of experience past their PhD.

Additional Benefits

Relocation

Awardees who reside more than 50 miles from their host laboratory and remain on tenure for at least six months are eligible for paid relocation to within the vicinity of their host laboratory.

Health insurance

A group health insurance program is available to awardees and their qualifying dependents in the United States.
