The research goal focuses on the tectonic processes, glacial dynamics, and isostatic deformations in the northern area of the Antarctic Peninsula. Research interests include compiling of databases, collection of additional seismic data, characterization of ice fields and glaciers, data analysis, and theoretical modeling of Earth and ice structures including dynamic changes. We are interested in novel approaches for understanding the changes that are occurring in one of the warmest areas of Antarctica and the implications for areas further to the south. An additional interest is in improving our understanding of the structure and tectonics along the South Shetland Islands and adjacent areas. This research could involve a number of geophysical collections including seismic techniques, ground penetrating radar, photographic and radar collections, GPS, and remote sensing.
