Description
The Federal Highway Administration’s Pavement Testing Facility (PTF) is seeking postdoctoral researchers with interests in accelerated pavement testing, material characterization, and sensor technologies. The PTF is a world-class research laboratory dedicated to improving the state of repair of American roadways. Proposals are invited which seek to: 1) develop machine learning and artificial intelligence tools for accelerated pavement testing applications; or 2) conduct pavement structural analyses using in situ test results to advance innovative pavement designs using local aggregate or quarry byproducts; or 3) develop models to predict pavement temperature and moisture conditions under loading and ambient conditions. Candidates must have lived in the United States for at least the last 3 years to be considered.
