Description
Our group is developing next-generation photonic quantum networking schemes and architectures. We are working on solutions that combine entangled photon pair generation with world-leading superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors to develop the world's first practical and scalable quantum networking architecture. Some of these schemes require optical frequency conversion between wavelengths or optical phase stabilization across a network that is compatible with weak quantum signals. We are working closely with other experts at NIST and the University of Colorado to develop the Boulder Area Quantum Network. We have opportunities to develop new network architectures, perform advanced quantum communication protocols that operate with a quantum advantage, implement entanglement swapping between remote measurement stations, develop new heralded single-photon sources based on spontaneous parametric downconverison, implement new time-transfer schemes to stabilize optical phase across a network, and more.
