To develop the needed data infrastructure to support the Materials Genome Initiative a variety of materials informatics based tools are required to facilitate the curation and dissemination of phase-base property data. This research will develop data schemas for phase-based property data (e.g., thermodynamic properties, diffusion properties, molar volume, elastic properties) using extensible markup languages (XML) to facilitate the CALPHAD-based database development. The XML-base schemas will be integrated with materials-based ontology using metadata models, such as RDF triples, to improve searching. To facilitate data curation, application programming interfaces (API) will be developed for a variety of experimental equipment.
