Flexible Electronics Reliability
Material Measurement Laboratory, Applied Chemicals and Materials Division
NIST only participates in the February and August reviews.
Newly emerging electronic materials exhibit attractive properties that can be leveraged to revolutionize the field of flexible electronics. Developing an effective flexible electronic structure has its own challenges from mechanical compliance of the substrate to device performance. There is a delicate balance between preserving and optimizing material electronic properties with flexible substrate mechanical properties.
We are interested in projects that advance flexible electronics for next generation electronic materials. Appropriate projects could include methods to reliably print electronic materials while preserving their attractive electronic properties, developing robust manufacturing methods and characterization of final structures. Device performance and reliability of the final structures under thermal, mechanical and electrical stressors should be considered.
