Description

Quantum mechanical devices can perform a variety of information processing tasks (such as factoring large numbers, simulating quantum mechanical systems, and secure multiparty computation over an untrusted network) which are impossible using only classical physics. We are interested in a broad range of topics in this area, including tamper-resistant quantum cryptographic devices, interactive protocols for testing and certifying experimental quantum devices, quantum tomography, and quantum algorithms. We are also interested in post-quantum cryptography (e.g., public key encryption and digital signatures that are secure against quantum attacks).

We are also interested in several topics in machine learning, including compressed sensing, low-rank tensor decompositions, and neuromorphic computation (e.g., hardware implementations of spiking neural networks).
