Description

The “Nonlinear Dynamical Systems Section” addresses a broad range of dynamical systems applications in many areas of science including physical science, mathematics, engineering, and biology. Research opportunities in nonlinear dynamics include nonlinear detectors, arrays of coupled oscillators, control and tracking of nonlinear systems, and other areas of applications. Many of these research efforts are carried out in cooperation with other NRL research and technology divisions, such as the Center for Bio-Molecular Science and Engineering and Information Technology, as well as academic institutions.

Current projects include modeling and control of arrays of complex nonlinear mechanical structures, reaction-diffusion systems, fluid turbulence, and biological and chemical sensor design.
