Description
Our group focuses on data-driven experimental mechanics of materials subject to a range of extreme environments. We develop and apply advanced optical characterization and metrology techniques to study material behavior at high and ultrahigh temperatures, and under hypervelocity flow conditions. This includes developing new methods for measuring deformation, strain, and temperature using optical techniques, and leveraging advanced computational techniques as well as micro/nano fabrication to understand material responses in challenging experimental settings.
