Background Investigation: Prospective awardees must successfully complete a background investigation prior to being offered an award. Following review of an application, AFRRI will contact prospective awardees and put these candidates in touch with the AFRRI’s security office. AFRRI security will collect certain information, and prospective awardees will be required to complete an online background investigation, including fingerprinting. Note that the background investigation normally takes at least 30 days, but could take four to six months to complete; awards cannot be made until this process is completed.
