Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary research team.  This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge instrumentation for interferometric light scattering imaging, specifically aimed at measuring the mass of gene delivery particles. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of researchers to design, build, and optimize novel instrumentation to advance our understanding of gene delivery systems.

Project Description:

Gene delivery particles, such as viral vectors and non-viral carriers, play a crucial role in gene therapy and biomedical research. Accurate measurement of the mass of these particles is vital for understanding their structure-function relationships and optimizing their performance. Interferometric imaging offers a promising approach to non-destructively and precisely measure the mass of individual particles. This project aims to develop novel instrumentation utilizing interferometric imaging to enable accurate mass measurements in combination with size an concentration measurements of gene delivery particles. 

Responsibilities:

- Design and construction of experimental setups for interferometric light scattering imaging-based multi-attribute measurements of gene delivery particles.
- Optimization of imaging parameters and data acquisition protocols to enhance measurement accuracy and efficiency.
- Integration of hardware components, such as lasers, detectors, and optics, to develop a robust and user-friendly instrument.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop innovative algorithms for data analysis and interpretation.
- Conduct experimental investigations to validate the instrument's performance, characterize particle mass distributions, and evaluate the impact of particle heterogeneity on gene delivery efficacy.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and workshops.
