This project investigates the dynamic behavior and acceleration of energetic particles within the dayside magnetosphere and their impact on the radiation belts. Individuals interested in working with spacecraft data analysis, ground-based measurements, magnetohydrodynamic simulations, and particle tracing techniques are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. The project involves working with a variety of ground and space based observations, as well as in-situ data from multiple spacecraft, to explore the injection of energetic electrons deep into the inner magnetosphere associated with dayside transient phenomena such as Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, flux transfer events, mirror mode waves, and other relevant factors and the contribution of these phenomena to the radiation belts particles, providing valuable insights into the complex interactions shaping the radiation belt environment.
