Description

We study fishery management, life histories, population dynamics, and their interdependence. Our goal is to improve fish stock assessments and corresponding management advice, particularly for marine species off the Southeastern US. Significant research opportunities exist in the application of quantitative methods to problems in population ecology and stock assessment. Associates are invited to develop new research projects or join current ones. Examples of current research topics include environmental and ecological effects on stock dynamics, population models of protogynous fish, fish recruitment, quantifying discards and release mortality, and management strategy evaluation.
