Description

This research focuses on stock assessment methods, fishery management, population dynamics, and the influence of the environment. The goal is to focus on research that will have an impact on management of marine species. Our focus area of much of the research is the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States. Associates are invited to develop new research projects or join current ones. Examples of current and past research projects include impacts of hypoxia on the gulf menhaden fishery in the Gulf of Mexico, treatment of natural mortality in stock assessment models, environmental effects on menhaden recruitment, and population models of protogynous fish.
