Description

This program is designed to support the design, construction, and operation of high-performance sustainable buildings with good indoor environments and low levels of energy consumption. This goals of this research are to (1) develop methods to measure contaminant emission and emission parameters from building materials and air cleaners; (2) predict concentrations of chemicals of concern in indoor environments accounting for impacts of different ventilation strategies, sorption, homogenous and heterogeneous chemistry; and (3) develop technology, guidance, and predictive tools to analyze newly discovered indoor air relevant species, chemicals, and particle components,
