Description
Omic based non-targeted measurement methods hold great promise for the advancement of precision and personalized medicine. By integrating proteomic, metabolomic and lipidomic approaches, health status can be assessed by surveying a complete, unbiased biochemical profile in biofluids (urine, plasma/serum), tissues and cells. This project focuses on the development of biological sample preparation methods compatible with NMR and mass spectrometry-based techniques for assessing profiles and relative differences between samples and computational/bioinformatics principles to enhance the reliable identification and classification of the differences amongst profiles. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of this project we are seeking applicants with experience in mass spectrometry based proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics, NMR based metabolomics, and/or bioinformatics.
