Description

This project aims to build a comprehensive and in-depth peptide mass spectral reference library for human identification by cataloging genetically variant peptides (GVPs). Additionally, libraries will be built for body fluid identification using body fluid specific peptides (BFPs). This work focuses on human specimens, including hair keratin. Research will include the analysis of a diverse array of experimental artifacts using modern LC-MS/MS instruments and custom software tools. Individuals with a background in proteomic sample preparation, mass spectrometry, and software development are encouraged to apply as well those who have an interest in forensics and measurement quality assurance.
